Born in India and immigrating to Canada in his twenties after living & working in India, Singapore, Hong Kong, & the Middle East, Prakash’s story in Cambridge and Canada began in the old Satellite Motel on Hespeler Road.
In the last 22 years since his wife Suneetha and him established roots in Cambridge, including the birth of their 2 sons at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Prakash and his family have immersed themselves in the Cambridge community, making it a priority to give back to the neighbours that welcomed them and strengthen it so that the next generation has similar opportunities.
An engineer by training with multiple post-graduate certifications, his global business interests have had revenues, operations, and market capitalization in the millions of dollars. As a renowned entrepreneur and sought-after hands-on consultant with a reputation of bringing people and ideas together to create success, Prakash wants to use his understanding of the realities, challenges, & opportunities small & medium-sized businesses face to make it easier for them to thrive in Cambridge & Waterloo Region.
Prakash currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce and is a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He has volunteered with numerous charities, service organizations, and contributed as a board member in Cambridge and Waterloo Region with the Rotary Club of Cambridge Sunrise, the Tamil Cultural Association of Waterloo Region, the Hindu Society, and the Cambridge Economic Development Advisory Board, among many others. Prakash has raised & donated thousands of dollars for various worthwhile causes that strengthen the Cambridge community that has supported him and his family all these years.
Prakash has been awarded the Ernst & Young Canada Entrepreneur of the Year, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, Waterloo Regional Immigrant Employer Network President Award, Junior Achievement Gowlings President Award, Region of Waterloo Cultural Diversity Champion. Prakash has also received multiple international awards and recognition for his contributions to business, communities and as a renowned global performer and promoter of classical Indian music, arts, and dance.
Prakash has travelled to over one hundred countries in the pursuit of understanding culture, traditions, food, business, practices, and people. His hobbies include cooking, motorbiking, music, travelling, and spending quality time with family and friends in the community.
